Jeremy Tompkins writes “A Little Piece Of Ground,” by Elizabeth Laird is the target of a censorship campaign. Groups pressure the publisher to reconsider putting out the novel.

They say That campaign appears to have originated with a letter written by the co-owner of two children’s bookstores in Vancouver. Before the book was released this month, Phyllis Simon, co-owner of Kidsbooks, requested MacMillan UK to reconsider sending out the “damaging book.”
Damaging my patootie
There is no such thing as a damaging book. Only books that transmit information some people don’t want transmitted. Whoever made the complaint is probably the kind of left-wing extremist who thinks that it is naziism to criticize Israel.

See. Tell an unpopular truth and some people try to discredit you. B’Nai Brith, for instance, an organization that is supposed to promote human rights, now tends to overcompensate and criticize as antisemitic people who speak out against Israel’s policy towards Palestinians. I reiterate: there are no damaging books; just information some people don’t want transmitted.
Re:Flamebait my patootie
You seem to have your Left and Right reversed. Putting it very crudely, it’s mostly conservatives and moderate liberals who support Israel. The Left tends to argue the Palestinian side. Or maybe the above was just a typo. Or maybe you think Jew=Liberal therefore Left=Pro-Israel. Doesn’t quite work that way. It’s been many decades since the Left was pro-Israel.
Re:Flamebait my patootie
I can understand your confusion. Most people think of politics one dimensionally; as a straight line with a mythical center. I regard politics as a universe, and which is spherical in the same way as the physical universe. In the physical universe, if you depart a point traveling in a straight line, you will circumnavigate the universe and return to your point of departure. In politics, if you two people depart from the same point, call it moderation, eventually they will collide on the far side of the universe, the point called extremism. At that point, their mindsets are equal, and left- and right-wing become indistinquishable. And meaningless.
