Chief of D.C. Library Departs for Better-Supported System

The Washington Post Reports The head of the financially strapped and underused D.C. Public Library is leaving for a similar position in what she called a “high performing” county library in Oregon.

Molly Raphael, who has said the mayor has not adequately supported the city’s library system, said she will leave the system that she has worked in for 33 years at the end of next month and will start her new job as library director of the Multnomah County Library in Portland before Thanksgiving.
