Chicks are digging books about sensitive guys

The Arizona Republic has This One on Lad lit – a newly coined category for fiction written by male authors about young, sensitive guys – is being marketed as the testosterone-laced answer to chick lit. These books – think Nick Hornby’s High Fidelity and About a Boy – have men wrestling with their emotions and insecurities. They obsess over breakups, their less-than-perfect bodies, their biological clocks – issues previously monopolized by such characters as Bridget Jones (Bridget Jones’s Diary), Tracey Spadolini (Slightly Single) and Rebecca Bloomwood (Confessions of a Shopaholic).
