Stevaroono M. Cohen writes “”Forget the stereotypes: Tomorrow’s library workers may have purple hair, pierced noses, and wear nonsensible shoes. At least, that’s what the Urban Library Program is hoping for.”

Did I miss something?
How did Steven Cohen make the jump from a web site promoting cultural diversity and paraprofessional development to “workers may have purple hair, pierced noses, and wear nonsensible shoes”?
I do not see anything on the Urban Library Program web site that would make me think that is the audience that is targeted.
It was a quote
I was quoting from this article.
Re:Did I miss something?
Even after looking at the correct link (thanks, Reeno), it seems like the quote is something the reporter pulled out of his or her, uh, head, rather than anything said by the school’s reps.
Putting aside that issue, it’s a VERY interesting and important story in that it appears that paraprofessionals are being trained to do work that, in many libraries, is the purview of MLS librarians.
Re:It was a quote
I guess it was misquoted initially than, since Steve Cohen did not write the intitial article.
I wonder what impression Laura French has of today’s libraries. She wrote about a program that promotes cultural diversity and paraprofessional development, and threw in colored hair and piercings.
