The new biography of genius cartoonist Charles M. Schulz will be out soon, but family members, notably son Monte Schulz, a novelist, is somewhat alarmed at the results of author David Michaelis’ work. Schulz said: “I guess we were all expecting vanilla, but got Rocky Road.”
Among the sweeter tidbits in the forthcoming book…
“Schulz’s cancer-stricken mother told her son in the early 1940s that if the family got another dog, it should be named “Snupi,” a Norwegian term of endearment.” Editor and Publisher has the story about the biography due out on October 16 from HarperCollins.
