Cancer Survivor or Librarian, 21-40 yrs.

ABC’s Extreme Makeover has a wishlist of types they’d like to nip, tuck, slice and dice. Number two on the list is “Cancer Survivor or Librarian.” Not sure what to make of that. More here from ABC. (Found on Publib digest, Aug. 31, 2005, posted by Vicki Varick.)

    but how do you tell the difference between a librarian and a cancer survivor anyway?

    Sounds like it could be the start of a new kind of “place ethnic group here” joke…

    That IS quite a list! So, according to the list, if you’re a one armed librarian who had cancer, was marrried, is currently engaged and living in a small town, has lost 100 pounds, and you’re a volunteer fire fighter, you’re sure to be chosen. There must be a few LISNewsterz that fit that description.

    Yes, lots of two-fers here. Violin music start. Small town librarian with a port wine birthmark who lost weight after her/his divorce but is now engaged to someone who also needs a make-over is a cancer survivor who volunteers with her/his local fire department.

    Did anyone else notice how every other candidate category has at least something beyond: Candidates must be U.S. citizens between the ages of 21 and 40 and be in good physical health. Guess when it comes to librarians and cancer survivors, the Extreme Team thinks we are all in need of “multiple plastic surgeries” and a “truly Cinderella-like experience…changing your looks completely in an effort to transform your life and destiny, and to make your dreams come true!”
