Cal State library has transformed campus life

Cal State is an example of this in which it transformed its campus life. Excerpts: ‘Within the first three days, the hub of campus life had shifted to the library and the area surrounding it,” said Marion Reid, longtime dean of the library. “It was amazing —- we had never seen so many students in one place.’ also ‘While the hundreds of computer terminals and private carrels for intense study receive the most use by students, Reid said that the reading room, which opened last fall, is like the crown jewel of the facility.’ and ‘There was a notion that we wouldn’t need a library because of the electronic revolution,’ Worden recalled last week.
