Bulgarian Libraries Starve for IT Upgrade

Sofia News Agency Reports Just one in ten libraries in Bulgaria apply modern technologies in their work, while, according to a recent survey. Researching the readiness of Bulgarian libraries and their transformation into centres of information society knowledge, the Union of Library and Information Workers found that 70% of libraries do not have computers. The survey commissioned by the State Agency for ICT covered 27-28% of operating working libraries (1,639 of some 6,000).
