Footballer David Beckham, Whitbread winner Mark Haddon and Harry
Potter author JK Rowling are up for the top prize at the British Book
Awards.
Beckham’s autobiography, My Side, is also joined by Paul Burrell’s memoirs and
Monica Ali’s Brick Lane in the Book of the Year category.
Madonna’s English Roses is nominated for Children’s Book of the Year along
with Philip Pullman’s Lyra’s Oxford.
The awards will be announced live on Channel 4 on 7 April.”
