Book of Predictions Sells for £1,200

A rare book written in 1892 which predicted the invention of bullet trains, digital watches and television sold at auction today for £1,200. The book tells the story of Alexander J Gibson, who awakens from his Rip Van Winkle-style hibernation into a 21st-century world where golf has become all-important and the world has taken a huge leap forward both technically and socially.
