Book ban at school is not end of issue

Anonymous Patron writes OrlandoSentinel.com Reports The battle over book-banning in a Polk County school is not over.

A library book deemed offensive by the mother of an elementary school student was tossed out of Spook Hill Elementary after review by a committee of parents, teachers and administrators.

“It’s not over yet,” said Jacqueline Rose, head of the district’s media services, who does not support removing any of the six challenged books.

The removed book, Anastasia Again!, by Lois Lowry, is aimed at young readers and focuses on a 12-year-old girl forced to deal with her parents’ decision to move from the city to the suburbs.”
