Papa of the world wide web, Tim Berners-Lee, has just been awarded the Millennium Technology Prize, from the Finnish government. Aside from a lovely plaque, the award comes with an even more lovely $1.65 million (Cdn) chunk of change. In his typical aw-shucks style, Berners-Lee commented, ‘I was just taking lots of things that already existed and added a little, little bit.’ One of the prize committee members said, ‘No one doubts who the father of the WWW is, except Berners-Lee himself.'”
