Barnes & Noble in the Black After 4th Quarter Profits

Barnes & Noble Inc. BKS.N , the No. 1 U.S. bookseller, on Thursday reported a fourth-quarter profit, vs. a year-ago loss, on strong sales through the 2001 holiday shopping season despite a soft retailing climate.

The full story goes on to say that Americans have given B&N 89,300,000 of their dollars because they now favour books as affordible entertainment, in the stay-at-home post 9/11 world.
