Banned books return to LA College shelves

An AP Story states — Two books that were pulled off the shelves of Louisiana College after a student complained they were inappropriate have now been approved for use in classroom instruction.

The college’s Board of Trustees enacted a new academic-screening policy in early December that required instructors to submit a list of teaching materials to the dean of academic affairs for approval. The move sparked protests among students and teachers, who complained that it violated academic free speech at the Baptist school.
