For nearly fifty years the City Lights bookstore in San Francisco has been proving ground for any cause that was \”howling against the establishment.\” Now, it an attempt to keep San Francisco from becoming \”dot-conned,\” preservationists are fighting to save the bookstore for its cultural value.

* Consumer groups don\’t like Amazon\’s privacy policy
Associated Press: September 1, 2000. In response to Amazon saying that it can sell customer information can be sold as an asset, consumer groups say Amazon\’s privacy policy gives no recourse to customer who don\’t want personal information shared or sold to other companies. Unlike the previous policy, the new one does not allow customers to elect against have personal information shared with a third party.
