Responding to a proposal that would deny social benefits to illegal immigrants, presidential candidate Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.) called the initiative, Project Arizona Now, \”a mean-spirited reaction.\” The initative, if passed, would require all government workers check the immigration status of anyone seeking public services.
