Want to listen to an audio book in the privacy and comfort of your own home…without even leaving home to get it?
If you’re a card-carrying Seattle Library patron, it’s easy. An e-book can be downloaded from the library’s website onto a computer and either burned to a CD or transferred to an MP3 player. For free.
“You could be in the middle of the ocean and check out [Ernest Hemingway’s] ‘The Old Man and the Sea’ while you’re rowing across the Atlantic,” said Marsha Iverson, King County library spokeswoman.
Here’s the story from the Seattle Times.
SPL and King County Library
Just wanted to drop a quick note that the King County Library System is seperate from Seattle Public Library and serves the rest of the County except Seattle. They are the system that has the eBooks, not SPL. Here’s a link to their website:
http://www.kcls.org/. I don’t think SPL has the service yet. Hope this helps!
