Always Running: Luis Rodriguez

Fang-Face writes In another incident of censorship, a mother who home schools her child has gotten Always Running removed from the curriculum. This case nicely illustrates the intrinsic lack of respect for human intelligence in that the book was on the curriculum for grade eleven classes. High school seniors are what? Sixteen? Seventeen? And still too stupid to deal with real life situations in books? And as always, it wasn’t enough for this woman to choose what books her child is allowed to read, she has usurped the authority of other parents to decide for their children. The report is in the Modesto Bee, from California.

NB: That she was home schooling is not relevant to this being a censorship challenge; home schooled children are still required to follow the local curriculum.
