A New Library for J. P. Morgan in NYC

The original J. Pierpont Morgan Library, designed by McKim, Mead & White in 1906, is a landmark of Beaux-Arts design, but, according to this article in the The New York Times, it was never a very welcoming building.

The addition of several pavillions by Italian architect Renzo Piano “sets up a mesmerizing rhythm between new and old” says the Times (registration required).
