Smart Search and other new research technologies has caused an improvement in the search site Ask Jeeves, according to librarian Gary Price, editor of The Resource Shelf. “This is not the same old Ask Jeeves. Its product is of much higher quality than back in 1999 and 2000, but they must convince people of this,” Price says.

It seems that most of AJ’s improvements are about driving searchers to its business affiliates.
Not that that’s a bad thing. It seems that the only practical way into the “deep web” is through licensing agreements.
I was hoping to see some insight into page-ranking algorythms, or ways to keep out bogus “search engine optomization” pages. But I guess that’s more a Google issue than an AJ one.
