Anonymous Patron writes “Michael Gorman has apparently become a blogger! In “Web 2.0: The Sleep of Reason, Part I” at the Britannica Blog:
He Says learning from “interaction with the human record” is under threat. In Part II he asks Is the astonishing spread of computer technology to change not just our society and personal lives but also the very nature of human intelligence?
He finishes by saying that the intellectual life of our society must continue to be based on respect for expertise, the scientific method, evidence-based texts, and, above all, the value of the individual scholar, author, and creator of knowledge. “
Apocalypse at hand?
Mr. Gorman blogging? It must be one of the signs of the Apocalypse. Hide the children and lock the doors.
Well, joking aside, maybe it is a good thing the guy is trying new things. I did glance at the piece, have to go back and read it.
