1 librarian who’s tough to catalog

An Anonymous Patron points us toward this interview:

“Terri Fields, a Sunnyslope High School English teacher who nominated Wong for the award, says the librarian “firmly believes that literacy is the key to personal and academic success for students as well as for adults.”

On this morning, Wong is discussing biographies and other non-fiction with seventh- and eighth-graders in the Explorer Middle School library. She opened the library in the then-new Paradise Valley school in 1997 after six months of preparation – this, too, while working full-time at Desert Cove.

Wong has collected almost 25,000 titles for the library, and she speaks of them as dear friends.”
