14 yr old girl attacked by “vampire” in Connecticut

Anonymous Patron writes “The grounds of the Mary Cheney Library in Manchester Connecticut was the scene of an attack by a 21 year old self-proclaimed vampire. According to a news report a male cut one of two underage females “with his fingernail to show her that he was a vampire”. All three involved were arrested.”

    I guess it’s fair to say now to my boss at my former place of employment that she’s not seen everything. All I can say is, thank fricking GOD I wasn’t on the reference desk at that library. I don’t know how I would have reacted to two 15 year olds saying they were attacked by a vampire. Honestly, unless the girl was bleeding profusely from the cut, I probably would have ignored them. Maybe it’s not the reaction I should have, but you do hear a lot of weird, outright… I don’t want to say lies… beliefs? on the reference desk. Then again, interfering with the arrest doesn’t make it sound like these two young ladies were, er, completely rational either. But would I be completely rational after being attacked by a vampire?

    Did anyone check to see if this gentleman had a reflection? Good to keep a mirror at the reference desk for just that occasion.

    Vampirism is more or less an offshoot of the Goth sub-culture. There is always someone who gets a tad overcommitted, though.

    Manchester Library Scene of Previous Weirdness
    Last October (2006) a man was found camping out in the same Manchester Library.
