John Hubbard at Library Link of the Day (you are subscribed, aren't you?) posted an interesting story. One of the provisions Mr. Holder favored was Section 215, the now notorious provision authorizing searches of specific library records.

Nice work bringing this to the library community's attention

Stephen,

Nice work bringing this to the library community's attention. I have cited this post of yours as an authority in my own blog post named, "ALA Silent As Obama Nominee Expects to Adopt USA PATRIOT Act Bush Position."

Good work. Thanks again.
