Sasser & Netsky Creator Confesses

AshtabulaGuy writes “In an article that can easily raise the hackles of many systems librarian, the 18-year old creator of the Sasser and Netsky worms has confessed. 18 year old Sven Jaschan apparently was responsible for 70% of viruses received around the Internet in the first half of the year.

Although Sven can receive up to a five year sentence in custody, it is thought that he might avoid doing jail time due to age.

For any librarian wondering why computers were dying and blamed such on Sasser and Netsky, the face of the opponent is now known.”

…but on the other hand, I could think of a few things I’d like to do to the little criminal, and it wouldn’t include grounding, non-payment of allowance or taking away the car keys.

In honor of the American teenager who got caned in Singapore way back when, Boston’s Howie Carr occasionaly does a “Who needs a caning?” segment on his afternoon radio show complete with sound effects. “Whip whip whip” for light offenses, “WHACK WHACK WHACK” for the more serious ‘criminals’.

All I can say is “WHACK WHACK WHACK WHACK WHACK WHACK WHACK WHACK WHACK “

Extradite
They should extradite him to every country where he has broken a law. This kid should do some jail time. If someone steals $700 from a 7-11 they get jail time. They cause a billion dollars in damage by writing a virus and ……..?

Perhaps…
using more secure operating systems (Mac or Linux) would be more effective.
