New Powers for the FBI

Thursday, May 30, 2002, Attorney General John Ashcroft freed the FBI to \”monitor\” churches, political organizations, sites on the Internet and libraries!. He called restrictions of spying \”a competitive advantage for terrorists.\”

I\’ve found nothing at www.ala.org in response to this. Perhaps everyone is too busy basking in the afterglow of the CIPA descision.
