Attack on Hoboken librarian leads to arrest

If you think you had a bad day at work, consider what happened to A 40-year-old librarian in NJ. A city librarian said he was bitten on the face by a man who was cursing in the library’s children’s section.

The 40-year-old librarian told police a man later identified as Abdul Harley, 34, of First Avenue in Manhattan, was cursing in the children’s area and disturbing readers inside the Park Avenue library on Wednesday at 11:43 a.m. The librarian said he asked Harley if he needed help, and Harley refused – using another expletive, the librarian said.

Harley then jumped up and attacked the librarian, punching and biting him on the face and finger, then fled. The librarian was taken to Hoboken University Medical Center for treatment.
