BOROUGH PARK, N.Y. (WPIX) – She wanted Dr. Evil, but instead a Brooklyn Grandmother got an evil she never bargained for.
Turns out, at the end of the Austin Powers movie Esther Klein borrowed from the Brooklyn Public Library was the hard core porn flick “What Happens When The Wife is Away.” Klein borrowed the Mike Myer’s movie for her three grandchildren, ages 7 to 15.
Luckily, Klein says the children did not see the x-rated images.

I’m not sure what surprises me more.
A) VHS is still a going concern at all, but hey, I still have some tapes so I can dig it.
B) Someone was bored enough to splice porn into a library video.
C) Someone actually knew how to splice a tape at all.
D) Someone had the equipment lying around to do so.

Interesting comma placement in that last sentence;

Only two of those really apply…

Unfortunately, you’re dealing with one of VHS’ key weaknesses: There’s no need to splice porn into the video and the only equipment needed was some Scotch tape (or equivalent) and a VCR. The Scotch tape is to tape over the hole that says “this is a read-only cassette,” at which point the tape is fully recordable.
(I only know this because I accidentally knocked out the tab on a blank VHS cassette, and had to figure out how to make it recordable again…)
