\”Some materials are so critical to citizen access, people are going to want to use them in print version,\” said Michael Lutes, depository librarian at the Hesburgh Library at the University of Notre Dame. Notre Dame has been part of the Federal Depository Library Program since 1883.

Notre Dame has been part of the Federal Depository Library Program since 1883.The reduction in spending would radically reduce the scope of the Depository Library Program, which distributes government publications to 1,337 libraries.
Only the Government Printing Office\’s Web site would be funded. All paper reports and other publications the Printing Office now offers to libraries would no longer be provided.
