I do not use my last name when I can help it. I like to be Googled about as well as the next guy. I don't mind if folks call me Walt, but I'll stick with Walter in the library world.

Fair enough.
Fair enough. I never (ever) use "Walter" online (and have consistently corrected those who use that name when publicizing a talk or article, since my professional name has always been Walt, with the exception of one article published 30 years ago). I believe there was one confusion on some blog somewhere at one point, but I've never seen a confusion since. Just wanted to clear the air.
