Alaska gives Bird Flu Advice to Hunters

Although the Avian Flu has not yet been detected in North America, the Alaska Department of Fish & Game has prepared some advice to hunters who might be concerned about the disease.

The site includes links to national resources on bird flu and also advises about other infections found in wild birds.

One of my all time favorite reference questions was the chef who called my vet library from NYC asking about bird diseases in blackbirds because he was going to make a blackbird pie (like the nursery rhyme) for a cooking contest. Yuk. I'll bet no one is trying that these days.
