Happy 4th of July

Like Norma says, Happy Fourth of July! Here's a picture of some of the decoration going on here in Douglas Alaska:

While we celebrate 229 years of Independence based on the inalienable rights granted to us by our creator and which no state can lawfully take away, let's take a moment to review some of our Founders words:

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

I reposted your links at my blog (giving you credit) and already got a thank you, so I'm passing it along. Grace says thank you.

why these two families can't get together on how to hang a flag.

It's hard to get two Alaskans to agree on most anything. Juneau is even worse. Virtually any city referendum will come out 51/49.Thanks for your blog mention and passing on the thank you. Speaking of credit, I should mention that this picture I took is hosted by the Flickr photo hosting service. According to their terms of service, I need to provide a link to Flickr whenever I link to the content they are hosting for me. Seems like a fair trade.
