The WWW Turns 15 Today

If you're like me (and you know you want to be) you can't imagine life without the web. 'Twas just 15 years ago Tim Berners Lee posted The First short summary of the WorldWideWeb project."The WWW project merges the techniques of information retrieval and hypertext to make an easy but powerful global information system.

The project started with the philosophy that much academic information should
be freely available to anyone. It aims to allow information sharing within
internationally dispersed teams, and the dissemination of information by
support groups. "

This is really blowing my mind. On the one hand, I can't really remember a time without the web, like it's always been there. On the other hand, I still remember the first time I fired up Netscape and tried to do some research for a school project, my freshman year of college. 15 years seems both long ago and too short a time!
