4 more concerts to promote CDs at libraries in Louisville

Here's A Neat Idea: The Louisville Free Public Library plans four more free concerts in its "Words for Music" series, designed to promote its purchase of 40,000 music CDs that can be checked out for free.

The featured singer-songwriters are diverse: folk-country artist Iris DeMent, alternative musician Andrew Bird, urban folk singer Dar Williams and the South African group Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

Ladysmith

If you have never heard Ladysmith Black Mambazo you should get one of their CDs. Ladysmith is a South African accapella singing group. Their songs are amazing. Ladysmith Black Mambazo

Ditto--and I'd note that a lot of you may have heard Ladysmith Black Mambazo without realizing it, on Paul Simon's "Graceland" if not elsewhere. ("Homeless," to be specific.) A stunning musical group.

Nice way to celebrate beefing up a collection

I imagine that most libraries could not do anything like this because their collection of CDs are too heavily used already, but I think this is a stroke of genius on someone's part. Nice variety of music too.
