Library Director, Demoted to Clerk After 18 Years of Service, Resigns


Here's a story out of Arkansas about a library director who was demoted to a catalog clerk after 18 years of service for "failure to follow the library system's policies." A month after being demoted, and following the Board's recent decision to uphold the demotion, which had been handed down by the county system director, she decided to resign from the public library entirely. My impression of a county system is that when they switched from a regional system her responsibilities as Director took a hit anyway. Anyone from a county system want to confirm or deny?
