Salinas cuts pit library against paramedics
Which is worse: for Salinas libraries to cut back from a seven-day to a six-day schedule, or for the city to eliminate its paramedic program and rely on the county for emergency medical response?
Comments
a clear argument for the paramedics...
the library only went from 5 days a week to 7 last year, so the cut just puts them back to 5 or 6 days a week... but cutting the paramedic program could end it for good...
I hate to see any library suffer...
...but this seems like a no-question situation to me. A four minute head start for medical emergencies or access to books and computers? I go with medical care all the time.
