Canada to Combat File Sharing

The Globe and Mail reports that the Canadian Recording Industry Association has begun to go after digital music swappers by demanding that ISP's identify the names of their customers. Several have refused saying that it would be a violation of the individuals' privacy rights. Another obstacle for the CRIA stems from a December ruling (though not legally binding) by the Copyright Board that specifcally states that downloading music is permitted under Canadian copyright laws.
