More on the Freeport Library Dilemma

There is clearly a rift between residents in Freeport, IL over funding a new library. The mayor of Freeport openly supports the building of a new library, while it seems a large number of residents are questioning the need. So far, it looks as though they might get about 1/2 of the original funding request, and possibly less if some residents get their way. The first part of the project to disappear would be the building\’s planned second story. Proponents of the new facility feel that the community needs to show support.
