Food and Books: A Tasty Combination

Some book clubs are putting a different spin on the traditional club format by eschewing textual analysis in favor of exploring literature through food. This story from the Indianapolis Star looks at a number of Indy-based groups who regularly gather for some lip-smackin’ gum-flappin’.

Librarian Wendy Pitt leads a group at the 38th Street Branch of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library. “‘I come up with some kind of food that somehow coincides with every book,’ she said. ‘It’s sometimes a stretch.’ For example, she opted for vending machine snacks to go with the mystery ‘Last Dance, Last Chance,’ by Ann Rule.”
