"British science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke turns 90 on Dec. 16. Clarke penned the novel 2001: A Space Odyssey, which was adapted into Stanley Kubrick's big-screen freaky fav."

Passed Away
Unfortunately, this writer passed on today.
Do tell?
You got a source you can cite for that, because I don't find any mention of his having passed away with a keyword search.
Save the easily offended: ban everything.
I agree with Fang
I can find no news story of Clarke dying and it would be a big story.
Just not true, as far as I can tell
Given Clarke's prominence, the fact that the SF Chronicle's most recent story on him is the 90th birthday story, that Google News shows nothing of the sort (again, the most recent story is his 90th birthday) and that Associated Press also has that as the most recent story...
I'm pretty nearly certain he didn't die on the 17th. Or today, so far, for that matter.
How Dare All Of You Doubt The Internet!
It says right there, on some random website... a comment from a completely random anonymous stranger that he's dead. He must be dead.
