I feel guilty writing in here and directing you to my webpage, so I'll make it short...
My impressions on Horizon 8.0 over at LinuxLibrarian.
I'll feel less guilty if it's short.
I emailed a link to the various individual library techies of our consortium. I was told by one of our consortium techies that this upgrade won't be available to us for 18-24 months. Which I guess is both a good thing and a bad thing. The bad thing being no new bells and whistles, the good thing being the same.
They are! But at least the design theory behind the whole thing is sound... Whether it will work well on a big sprawling database such as ours, I don't know. I don't suppose it can get any worse. It depends on if the consortium has money for the optimal hardware. But the design theory is very sound, if you ask me.
And I was really trying to find fault.:)
Glad you found the write up useful, Greg...
It's always good to hear from you.
