A really cool Story from The Dailyherald in Chicago, on moving the Des Plaines Public Library. They had an old-fashioned bucket brigade with 1,000 people, and just handed the books down the line. Sounds like fun to me!

\”We chose to start the brigade with books for children, because they\’re the ones who are going to grow up with this library,\” said Barb Saletnik of circulation services.

A festive atmosphere permeated the line from start to finish. Bagpipers with the Glengael Pipe Band moved the books along at the beginning of the line, while the Des Plaines Community Band kept up the beat at the other end. As the first books started coming in, the band played a medley of songs from \”The Sound of Music.\”
