A.I. as virtual research mediators

An interview question from a college student prompted this response from me:

Whether those in my profession (librarian) or others like it or not, I foresee artificial intelligence increasingly helping guide researchers to sources and users to help. The other day I needed to pair up a satellite service remote with a TV. I opened up the service app on my phone, typed in the question and a virtual agent walked me through all of the steps. The internet is already a "weak" A.I. of sorts - the knowledge base that A.I. agents use, and the Internet is becoming more predictive all the time.
