You should add that these are books kids are taking quizzes in schools that use Accelerated Reader, but not any books for which there is no AR quiz, hardly a solid representative sample of all schools or all student reading. Plus my experience with AR would suggest that students take quizzes on books they have not read, and that they are more likely to choose books to read that offer lots of "points", so their reading data is skewed by their extrinsic motivation to gain points rather than what they really wants to read.
