State Aid to Libraries Held Steady in NC

Librarians around the state are breathing a sigh of relief now that the legislature has passed a budget with no cuts in aid to libraries. “We’re thrilled, delighted,” said State Librarian Mary Boone. “It’s absolutely wonderful that the governor and the legislature understand the value of public libraries in these difficult economic times.” Boone heads the State Library of North Carolina, part of the N.C.
