Oscars 2012: 'Fantastic Flying Books' wins for animated short film

“The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore,” a 15-minute film about a man who cares for a library of lively books, won the Academy Award for animated short film on Sunday night. More at L.A. Times

he spends his whole life in the library, never meets the woman who originally drew him there, ... it was one of those sad views of the world of books as being everything in his life. and he didn't even get to have a cat. it made me think of that movie Let the Right One In, with the books draining the life of each new servant.
it was a joy to watch, but depressing to think about.

A certainly well deserved Oscar!
