R.I.P., homey

I am slightly to the left of Howard Dean and Buckley was one of my favorite writers. It was like watching a really gifted sprinter run and then realize he was from 1970s S. Africa. Guy still could run.

I make no apologies for for his enthusiasm toward segregation. But he was an actual conservative who wanted the budget and government to be smaller, not smaller regarding his foes and bigger toward his friends.

If you see any of these conservatives in the coming days give one a hug. They lost their leader and they'll be bummed.
