Emerald Backfiles to Launch at ALA Midwinter
New products and enhanced website for 2008
UNITED KINGDOM, December 18, 2007 – Emerald Group Publishing is pleased to announce the launch of Emerald Backfiles in conjunction with the ALA Midwinter conference, to be held January 11-16, 2008 in Philadelphia, PA. Emerald is releasing the digitization of the full archive of its journal titles in business, management, library and information services, materials science, and engineering. Working with the British Library, more than 50,000 articles some going back to the 1800s are now in PDF format and available electronically for the first time.
Exhibits will be held January 11-14 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Attendees are invited to visit booth #1938 to view the latest Emerald products and register for the giveaway of an iPod Touch.
To celebrate the launch of Backfiles, Emerald is delighted to offer a limited number of free copies of the first issue of New Library World. The issue is entitled, The Library World: a Medium of Intercommunication for Librarians, dates back to July 1898. New Library World celebrates its 110th anniversary in 2008 and will join the many titles included in Emerald Backfiles. The Library World was the first magazine of its kind originating from London, and provides an unmatched historical view of “modern Library work and practice…. not hampered in any way by official connection with a society or other public body”.
