Coming Into The Country

I have a once in a lifetime opportunity to head up to Alaska this year, so I'll be (mostly) away from LISNews for the next 10 days or so. We're flying to Seattle (via Detroit) and then jumping on a little boat and on to Juneau, over to Sitka, then Ketchikan, and finally Victoria, and back to Seattle. The weather, and the Wind don't look terrible at this point, but not great either. If all goes well, we'll make it home Saturday night.

Little boat?

OK, compared to some of the Princess and Carnival monsters, the Oosterdam isn't quite so huge, but 1,848 passengers is pretty big by my standards. Now, if you see one of the CruiseWest ships or the Empress of the North (a paddlewheeler)--THOSE are little boats.

I'm sure you'll have a great time. And you'll want to go back again.

Have a great time!

I am so jealous! Took a trip to Nova Scotia a few years back on the now defunct Scotia Prince... A little queasy on the way up, but once you get your sea legs, not so bad.

Yarrrrr! Ye be watchin' out for dem pirates!

Seriously, have a great time, and take lots of pictures!

is the most awesome place in the world. Have a great time (although that weather forecast doesn't look too great).

It's GOOD spring weather!

Forecast from Weather Underground:"Monday - Rain showers likely. Highs around 49. South wind 15 mph. Chance of showers 60 percent."Sounds like Spring in Juneau to me!Anyone coming though Juneau is welcome to visit me and and possibly get a drive from one end of our mighty road system to the other. That drive would be about 45 minutes!
