nothing is sacred
The last time my husband and I were in Vienna (heh, sounds like we go there frequently! We both studied there for a semester, and went back to visit in 2001) they were building a Starbucks right across from St Stefan's Cathedral. It just seemed so out of place and garish and American, in the midst of Vienna's famous coffehouse culture. We've heard that it's not doing too well though, so that's reassuring.
